We designed a colourful and contemporary home for a vibrant young family.

Designed for a young professional couple, this home was their first opportunity to truly let their personalities shine through. Well travelled and adventurous, they wanted a home that was a daring mix of modern and traditional styles, equipped to be a cozy hideaway but also easily host parties and entertain guests.

A yellow geometric screen greets visitors as soon as they enter this home. A large potted plant complements the floating wooden console resting on the screen. To balance the beautiful brick wall and wooden beams in the first of three lounges, an L-seater in soft beige fabric is paired with a neutral rug matching black coffee table and nested side tables.

The second lounge features an indigo blue sofa against a brick panelled wall. Next to it, in sharp contrast, is a mid century teak wood chair upholstered in a black and white patterned fabric. The last lounge features a faux leather sofa and black and white patterned rug. Grey accent chairs soften the strong statements made by the faux leather sofa and teal wall in this lounge room.

The hall leading to the kids room is designed to be sleek but also incorporate plenty of storage. The round mirror visually expands the narrow hallway and reflects the overhead lights to brighten up the space further.

The kids bedroom gets a lot of natural light. A white board and a play table and chairs (and plenty of toys and games) keep the little one busy for hours! A tropical wallpaper adds a fun twist and floating shelves and a kid-friendly bookcase add functionality to the space. Colourful cushions, toys and bedding add some punch to the neutral tones of the surrounding furniture in this bedroom.

This was a project that showcased the family’s well traveled outlook at interior design style. We created a home where they could relax and unwind but where they could also entertain and host guests.
